Luna Rail is a Berlin-based company working on the research, development and implementation of the next generation of day and night trains.
Our patent-pending modular cabin technology is designed to transport as many passengers as possible with maximum comfort and privacy in each railcar. The result is an attractive and cost-effective night train service. Profitable for operators, competitive with aviation, and ready to scale across Europe.
Our story.
Luna Rail was founded by Anton Dubrau and Hendrik Lucka.
Anton, with years of experience in the technology, mobility, and railway sectors and a passion for sleeper cars, had a vision: to transform night trains into an appealing, sustainable alternative to aviation.
To bring this vision to life, he partnered with Hendrik Lucka, Co-Founder and chief product officer, to develop a new private and affordable cabin technology. Specialising in engineering and design, Hendrik is responsible for the product development process, managing it from initial concept sketches and prototyping to the final product.
Together with their team of dedicated engineers and designers, they work on making the future of sustainable travel happen.

Our goal: Maximum sustainability.
Our promise is to provide the highest economic efficiency in combination with high flexibility. This is key to making night train operations economically sustainable and more independent from state subsidies, while keeping the social cost of infrastructure investment as low as possible.
Every Luna Rail railcar that enters service replaces short-haul flights with a mode of transport that emits a fraction of the CO₂. Each railcar saves approximately 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. At the scale of our initial fleet target, that's 240,000 tonnes annually. At the full scale of the addressable European market, the savings reach 20 million tonnes per year.
Ecologically, this will help stabilise our climate by reducing the need for short-haul flights in Europe, a sector currently responsible for 12% of EU greenhouse gas emissions, trend rising.
